GeoFlashing in the Valley

We have started a new discussion area on Kinky Vegas, for those who like to show off their Junk. Most folks are familiar with Geo Cacheing, a real-world outdoor treasure hunting game. Players try to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, using GPS-enabled devices and then share their experiences. GeoFlashing is for the more adventurous among us, it is similar in that there is a list of locations, and you find your way to them by the Latitude and Longitude, using your GPS device. There is be a marker of some kind, at the flash site to confirm you found the right place. However with GeoFlashing the next step is for one or more of the group to "Show off Their Junk" while someone takes a digital snap to prove you were there.

Welcome to Hot Vegas

With alternative communities the view from the outside looking in is usually radically different than the view from the inside looking out. At least this is what I have found at the various way stations of my journey along the trail of tears. As a Vegas valley resident I have also found this to be true when you talk about "Hot Vegas", visitors come here with a way different idea of what "Hot Vegas" is all about than, the idea, the locals and residents have. Kinky Vegas October MeetUp

Las Vegas Faces Its Deepest Slide Since the 1940s

New York Times - October 2010 Many cities across the country that are beginning to see the first glimpses of the end of the recession, Las Vegas is not one of them. The nation’s gambling capital is staggering under a confluence of economic forces that has sent Las Vegas into what officials describe as its deepest economic rut since casinos first began rising in the desert here in the 1940s. Unemployment in Nevada is now 14.4 percent, the highest in the nation and a stark contrast to the 3.8 percent unemployment rate here just 10 years ago;Las Vegas unemployment is 14.7 percent. August was the 44th consecutive month in which Nevada led the nation in housing foreclosures. The Plaza Hotel and Casino, which is downtown, recently announced that it was laying off 400 workers and closing its hotel and parts of its casino for eventual renovation, the latest high-profile hit to a city that has seen a steady parade of them.

Starting September 6th, the predicted high temps in the Valley are below 100 degrees for the next ten days, Hot for Las Vegas is over for 2010. No more hundred degree days for Vegas until May 2011. There is a local keyboard Dom who likes to act like a lawyer online and spout off about his lack of knowledge in this area. So he likes to scare everyone from even attempting to visit these establishments for fear of certain arrest and subsequent torture at the hands of the local police if you are ever caught near their front door.
